Aitken Marine International is the official agent in the GCC region for BIO SEA by BIO UV, a USCG and IMO Type Approved UV BWTS covering lower capacity rates of BWTS, under 2000 m3/h.
BIO UV has almost two decades experience in the design and manufacture of UV technology for water disinfection and water purification. The BIO SEA UV reactors deliver the effective UV dose to destroy 99.9% of microorganisms.
Both Modular and Skid Options are available, covering capacity rates from 10m3/h to 2000 m3/h in two ranges. The 10m3/h to 90m3/h range is the most compact unit on the market and suitable for offshore vessels or dredgers, whilst the 55m3/h to 2000 m3/h range is dedicated to container vessels, general cargo vessels, RORO/ROPAX and passenger ships.
The BIO SEA system has the lowest hold time on the market for any UV based BWTS with installation on more than 150 vessels to date. Treatment times are zero hours for fresh water, twenty hours for brackish water and twenty-four hours for marine water.
The BIO SEA treatment system should be operated at each ballasting and de-ballasting operation. Whilst ballasting, both operations of filtration and UV disinfection are carried out. When the vessel is de-ballasting only the operation of UV disinfection is completed. This permits the re-treating of the water that has been retained in the ship’s ballast tanks throughout the voyage, thus eliminating any possible biological recontamination and ensuring IMO and USCG regulatory compliance
